Akashic Record Adventure – woo woo!

Do you know what an Akashic Record is?  I kinda-sorta knew, but never (before) had explored it much.  As a preface, I am a bit of a “woo-woo” with my belief in alternative healing modalities and other non-scientific systems such as astrology, spirit world and psychics being a part of a holistic, well-round, adventurous life.  Recently, suffering from a bout of entrepreneurial imposter syndrome, I decided to try something new and out of my comfort zone to help me overcome this challenge of self-doubt of running a successful business.  Enter Amy Bionidi, who offered a free Akashic Record reading to help remove any “energy blocks screwing up cash flow”.

Akashic Record defined

My preconception about Akashic Records was it somehow involved reading my energy field like some kind of computer database combined with my past lives.  To give you a clearer idea, I did some research.

In simple terms, it’s similar to the concept of the “Book of Life” found “in folklore, in myth, and throughout the Old and New Testaments. It is traceable at least as far back as the Semitic peoples and includes the Arabs, the Assyrians, the Phoenicians, the Babylonians, and the Hebrews. Among each of these peoples was the belief that there was in existence some kind of celestial tablets which contained the history of humankind as well as all manner of spiritual information.”  It’s a lot more than this, so if you want to learn about Akashic Records, check out the website of “Sleeping Prophet” Edgar Cayce, who formalized this phenomenon.

Energy healing protocol

As with other energy modalities, Amy did ask permission to read my energy fields.  In 2009 I trained in Reiki, a Japanese-based energy healing method.  Becoming a Reiki practitioner helped me with my faith in a higher power, and in seeing first-hand how energy healing works.  (I told you I try a variety of things!)  Amy also said in the session she would let me know which chakras were blocked, keeping me from my money flow.

Chakras defined

Chakras are important in many spiritual places. You may even have come across it in a yoga class.  Just in case you’re not sure, here is a chart I put together.  If you have more questions, there are many books and websites that explain it in greater detail.  Basically, they are central energy points on the body that relate to specific issues and parts of life.

The Intuitive Reading with Amy

Over the years I have done different kinds of readings with different kinds of intuitives, such as tarot card readers, channelers and empaths who connect with spirits.  The ones I like most are where I feel I am receiving feedback as if I have been talking to my “higher self.”  Or rather, the “me” that knows better than my ego currently allows me to access.  This probably sounds odd to you.  But for me, it’s how I reassure myself that these strangers are telling me things they couldn’t possibly know otherwise.  And my higher self usually uses words and messages I instantly understand.

Like talking with myself

The session with Amy was easy this way, like talking to my best self.  No past lives came up to be a lesson I needed to learn or harm that needed healing.  However, two of my chakras need to be energetically worked on to enhance my money flow.  The throat chakra – communication…or expressing myself more through the written word (as you are reading here!)  And then the solar plexus – the power center where one follows one’s intuition.

While we went over a lot of topics, the important point she confirmed was I just need to trust myself. (Trust “my gut” where the solar plexus is located.  Get it?), and to trust my inner knowing.  Want a laugh?  My word for 2019 is “knowing”!

Confirming my mission through the Akashic Record

Adventures are about trying and learning new things, as well as letting go of the outcomes.  With my Akashic Record adventure, I did all that.  It wasn’t what I expected.  It was better!  The Imposter Syndrome pops up as “Who Am I to do…(fill in the blank)?”  The answer I received is that I am on my soul-aligned mission to be an Adventure Mentor.  That big sister who cheers you on, and shows you what is possible.  Amy gave me a great visual:

You are learning to ride a bike and I am right there with you to steady and support you.  As the adventurer, you are the one who gets on the bike and you are the one who pedals.  You are the one who wobbles, falls off and after dusting your knees, gets back on and tries again.  You keep going. Even with bruises, bumps and smiles. Because you know I am there for you, to inspire you, and cheer with you when you ride off!

Sometimes to shift your outlook on life, you need to shift your perspective by traveling somewhere unfamiliar, or seeing familiar places in new ways.  It was while I was in another country that I realized – everywhere is someone’s backyard!  I’ve also become a big fan of traveling to one place that is wildly different each year – an event in the Nevada desert called “Burning Man”
