Meditate before Adventures by Kate Connolly

Are you open and/or curious about meditation?  I have found that Adventures become more available when I’m feeling grounded.  There are lots of ways to meditate, and maybe you have lots of reasons (i.e objections) to not trying it (for example, my son says he’s way too hyper to be able to sit still that long…yet he can zone out watching TV for hours…hmmm).

Let me introduce you to Kate.  I first met her on an adventure at a women’s empowerment weekend in Miami three years ago.  Even though she lives in Virginia, we keep in touch on a regular basis.  She has helped me to learn how to meditate.  These are not long sessions, as we are both busy women.  Her methods have helped me balance myself during times when I get anxious, or even when I’m doing yoga and it seems to come to me naturally!  She has offered up a gift of a short (8 minutes!) meditation for you!

Let me know in the comments if the audio worked for you, and also any thoughts you may want to share on the meditation!

Sometimes to shift your outlook on life, you need to shift your perspective by traveling somewhere unfamiliar, or seeing familiar places in new ways.  It was while I was in another country that I realized – everywhere is someone’s backyard!  I’ve also become a big fan of traveling to one place that is wildly different each year – an event in the Nevada desert called “Burning Man”
